Blitz 1941 set for re-release?

Thanks Peter for posting in the comments that Blitz 1941 will soon see the light of day courtesy of eFusion MMOG, publishers of Navy Field Europe. This leaves me with a lot of questions like will the game be changed at all and will it be available to NA players? Nontheless, it's great to see the game back again.

Update: It's been confirmed that eFusion have obtained the source and the game will be available to everyone. Look for an official website to be opened soon.

Update #2(July 6, 09): The site is now officially up. http://www.twowar.com/games/blitz_index.asp Register and check out the community forum, answer a few questions and sign up for the beta. Also note: the verification email arrived in my gmail spam section, check it if you haven't received it.

Update #3(July 31, 09): The tentative release date for the closed beta is August 14, check your email in the coming days to see if you've been accepted. All entries before August 14 will be accepted into the closed beta!

Update #4(August 12, 09): The download link is officially released at http://www.twowar.com/games/game_download.asp The Twowar frontpage now shows a countdown clock for the opening of the server. For curiosities sake, the client gives a wrong password/id error when trying to connect as of now.

Other MMOs

Yes, I'm still here, little news on Blitz, it's starting to sound like a broken record. For those looking for some other MMOs, one of my old favorites FSB(Freestyle Street Basketball) was re-released by JCE recently after the North American version was shut down by Sierra Online last year. It's in beta(characters will be deleted), still buggy for some(me!) and not available in all countries but worth a try if you're into sports MMOs.

A New Year

Hope everyone had a happy New Year for those celebrating. All is quiet on the Blitz 2 front, the supposed news on the game in December never arrived. Hopefully, the coming year brings some official news for us Blitz fans.

Email Response

A reader recently emailed Dragonfly and inquired about Blitz 2, this is their response:

Dear Kevin

First of all, thank you for your interest in our game and let me answer your questions.

Blitz1941 that was serviced in Haname is closed since last 20 December 2007 so that unfortunately you can’t play anymore.

At the present, we are developing the Blitz 2 that takes over Blitz1941’s good point and makes up for its weak points. Please wait a moment at great inconvenience.

For reference, even if you join the Korean Blitz2 homepage (http://www.blitz2.co.kr/), you can’t play the game at the present.

In addition, it isn’t decided yet whether we service in only Korea or worldwide.

We’ll do our best to service the game with good quality as much as many players in domestic and worldwide wait as soon as possible.

Thank you.

Hat tip to Kevin for the email.

News? Nope.

It's been a while, but nothing new to post. I'm thinking about starting a Blitz 2 wiki article since some asshat set the Blitz 1941 one for deletion. News on the game will probably be pretty slow until December, I think we can expect some announcements then.

Some Pretty Pictures

In case you missed them, some nice high quality pictures I haven't posted yet. Once again from the earlier 4gamer article.
